What Mean From Trinity

The Trinity
The three skulls represent the Trinity of Mind, Body and Soul. So, along with the arrows, the Trinity symbol basically means that when you do something, you should do it with your everything and be devoted to the fullest, if you truly believe in it.

What Mean From Orbis Epsilon

-It uses previous symbols to create a new one: A round shape, divided in the middle (yin/yang), with spears (arrows)
-It’s a symbol for War and a shield.
-Epsilon is also the lowest of five castles in the novel "Brave new World"
-Small and circular formation of troops.

What Mean From TRIAD

The most popular theory is that it represents the band’s 3 members - ‘triad’ can mean “group of three”. As far as I know, the band has not made a statement disclosing the meaning behind the symbol. No band member has come out & said "The Triad means..." So fans have drawn conclusions based on this primary definition of Triad. Something to remember about 30STM: they are very careful to remain ambiguous (ambiguous = that which can have more then one interpretation because no set meaning has been given) in most aspects, such as their symbolism/iconography, their lyrics, their videos, the band itself, etc. Jared even stated in the interview '30 Seconds To Mars: State of the Union', that once the band has written a song & released it to the public, the band "relinquishes ownership" of it to the fans and the fans can interpret it as they like. (see about 2:00 into this link: http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/647401/ja…

A Triad also has meanings in science, music, sociology, etc. Also, the triangle that is the base structure of their Triad, is an equilateral triangle (meaning all angles and sides are equal) with a line segmenting it. Having all these parts equal rather then all different is probably significant as well. A triangle can also represent a pyramid. So the Triad can be analyzed by its name, by the structure itself or by both things combined. Another Mars thing to remember: most of the theories behind the Mars glyphs, are just that, theories - ideas fans have conjectured using their knowledge of 30STM and what info is available about these symbols, the band has given NO set meaning in most cases.

So here are some other possible theories I have come up with:

1. The Pythagoras symbol (Pythagoras is also the name of one of Jared's guitars & he also seems to have a thing for Greek, Roman & Latin things) for 3 is called the Triad and is represented by an isosceles/equilateral triangle. This link shows a diagram of the Pythagorean Triad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triad_(Gree… which you will notice is the same type of triangle used to represent 30STM's Triad. So, this is another possibility of where they got the idea for the base design and name.

2. If this triangle is representing a pyramid (at the end of the 'This Is War' video, the tanks, trucks, weapons, etc. form a pyramid which flashes to the symbol of the triangle/Triad as the video blacks out), this can influence the meaning of the Triad. Because a pyramid can mean: a belief in something/ a connection to something spiritual or godly (many cultures believed building a pyramid was like stairs to the gods, it got them closer to heaven - so this could mean the pyramid/Triad draws us closer to the band & their music)/ having your feet on the ground & your head in the sky/ power, longevity, & strength.

3. A Triad is a name sometimes associated with certain underground societies - so this could be a reference to the band's motto 'Yes this is a cult' and the Echelon (see link in source box) which are sometimes referred to as an underground movement. Also, the most common formation that defines an 'echelon', is with a leader in front and a flank to the left and to the right in a 'V' /triangular formation following behind (in the 'This Is War' song, the line is "To the right, to the left, we will fight to the death...")

4. A triangle, can represent the number 3 (a very strong number in the study of numerology), has many meanings all to itself, as well as being a prominent part of the band. The #3 is the the number said to represent life, because it is the only number w/ a beginning, a middle & an end. (see this link for #3 meanings: http://www.crystalinks.com/numerology2.h… )

5. It could also be that this symbol and name were used because it means all of these things and more - it is a very strong, recognizable, and all encompassing name & symbol.

I think the band wants us to wonder, discuss & draw our own conclusions, otherwise they would have given answers to this and many other band related riddles. They are quite fascinating - yet another reason we love them so much.

This link gives other triad meanings & definitions so you might get a few ideas of your own. :)

What Mean From Glyphics

There are two meanings that have been put forth, neither of which have been confirmed by Jared Leto or anyone else in the band, but are still good places to start.

The first explanation is that the four glyphs represent the four terrestrial planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

First glyph: two intertwined M's, meaning mercury; second glyph: seems to be rotating in the opposite direction, and Venus rotates in the opposite direction from all the other terrestrial planets; third glyph: Roman numeral three, and Earth is the third planet from the sun; and fourth glyph: two dots around a bigger circle, which could be Mars and its two moons.

The second explanation is that the four glyphs stand for the bands name.

First glyph: two intertwined threes, representing 30; second glyph: rotating in the opposite direction, almost as if counting down, representing seconds; third glyph: if you look between the lines, you get two white lines, representing 'to'; and fourth glyph: the same explanation for Mars.
